Are we new kids on the block? NAH!

Our President, Principal Assignor, who recently received a 30 year service award from the State Referee Committee, and State Association Delegate at Large (Anita), has been in the assignment business since shortly after her arrival in the Metro area in 1976. With our Technical Director (Don, formally Professor of Engineering Management at DAU, VA/DC Hall of Fame member, SRA, State Instructor and Assessor) she has shared an interest in THE GAME for most of her adult life.

DARK Associates was organized in 1979 and predates both of the local area referee organizations, the older of which we were the founding principals, at a time when there were only 49 registered officials in the State and the District. In those days the officials were paid $12 for the middle and $6 for a line.

Over the years, mainly through the efforts of our President, fees have been increased appropriately with league cooperation and through fair-minded negotiation.

Our principal certified USSF and VHSL assignor estimates that some 10,000 plus games have been covered for youth, (where she introduced the three man system) amateur and professional, league, cup and tournament games.

Looking to the future.

We are here and plan to be around to serve our Associates (Referees) and selected leagues for many years to come. We are committed to the assignment of qualified, adequately compensated, officials at all levels in support of THE GAME! And to the maintenance of the independent status of those officials.
